Elzetta Alpha Gen3 Quick-Build Configurator
The Elzetta Alpha Gen3 Quick-Build Configurator will help you get your light built fast. Alpha Gen3 Models produce 435 lumens from a single CR123A battery (with a 10-second burst of 535 lumens) and a full 535 lumens from a single RCR123 rechargeable cell (with a 10-second burst of 800 lumens).
At only 4-inches long, these compact powerhouses are perfect for everyday carry (EDC), pocket carry, weapon mounting and other applications where small size and reliable high output are required.
Choose the low-profile standard bezel or the aggressive crenellated bezel.

Choose between the standard solid acrylic optical TIR (Total Internal Reflection) lens, or the flood lens.

Each accepts any of five unique Elzetta Tailcaps: Rotary, Click, Alpha Gen3 High-Low, 5-inch Tape Switch, or 12-inch Tape Switch.

When you complete a configuration, the description for your model choice will appear below. Read through it to make sure it is the right choice for you. If you want to try something else, just click on the dropdown boxes and select other components until you get the model that will best serve you.
(Read full description below for more info.)
NOTE: There is no “High/Strobe” tailcap for Alpha Gen3. If strobe mode is selected, strobe mode is integrated into the head and is activated with a simple double-click of the switch on ANY tailcap. Strobe MUST be selected, or the flashlight that is shipped will have NO strobe. DO NOT USE “HIGH/LOW”, ALPHA GEN2 “HIGH/LOW”, OR “HIGH/STROBE” WITH ALPHA GEN3! IT WILL DESTROY THE TAILCAP!
Burst Mode Explained
- When using a high drain IMR RCR123 cell, the Alpha Gen3 unleashes a 10-second burst of 800 lumens before the output is subtly tapered off over a period of approximately 30 seconds, then regulated to a constant 535 lumens.
- When using a primary CR123 cell as fuel, the Alpha Gen3 will produce a 10-second burst of 535 lumens, then subtly regulate down to a constant 435 lumens.
The user will not see an abrupt drop in brightness after the burst mode. This subtle tapering is designed intentionally, so as to not distract the user with a sudden drop in luminosity during critical operations. The burst mode resets every time the power is cycled off and back on again, so the burst mode can be more easily perceived after the light has been on for at least 20-30 seconds, then cycled off and back on again.

This graph shows the gradual decline in brightness after the burst mode of Alpha Gen3 flashlight from Elzetta.
More Points of Interest
- A high frequency strobe is now fully integrated into the head and can be activated by double-tapping the switch. Simply cycle the light off to disengage the strobe function.
- Your choice of a Rotary, Click, Alpha Gen3 High-Low, or Remote Tape Switch Tailcap completes the flashlight.
- The Body is machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum and finished with a Type III hard anodized surface.
- One CR123A primary cell is included with your new Alpha Model.
- Custom laser engraving is available.
- Made in USA.
