The Ultimate Tactical Handheld Test

The Elzetta Bravo B552 was recently featured in a multi-brand tactical flashlight test and review by the folks at LowLightDefense.com. We were very pleased to see that our product performed exceptionally well compared to others that were unable to match our level of durability and reliability. The B552 was tested and compared to products that placed a strong emphasis on high lumen and candela output utilizing rechargeable Lithium-Ion cells. This, understandably, provides a performance advantage due to their ability to handle far more electrical current safely. As expected, the B552 did not compare well in terms of candela and luminous flux while using CR123a primary cells pulling a safe amount of electrical current.

Our Bravo model B552 claims to produce 15,750 candela. Out of three separate samples, the B552 produced 100%, 96%, and 95%. We were among the few that produced 100% of our claims.

Among the durability tests, some were easy and some were grueling. The tests were Vibration, Mist, Fishtank, 2-Meter Tank, 2-Meter Drop, Bash, Dust, Temperature, Concrete Mixer, and 300 ft. Drone Drop on Concrete. Only three lights were chosen for the Drone Drop based on previous scores and the Elzetta was just under the 3rd highest score so it did not get chosen for the last test.

Overall, we are super excited that we did place 4th in the ranking score, but adding up all of the durability tests alone, we placed 1st! (Again, no surprise to us.) They chose not to test the B552 in the 300 ft. drone drop test, but if they HAD dropped it from 300 ft., we are confident the B552 would very likely have survived, which would have placed it 2nd in the overall ranking score.

We were also one of the only brands to survive every test using the first flashlight. Others failed at various stages of testing and needed to be replaced for further testing. We truly are the toughest tactical flashlights on the planet.

We would like to compliment Shan H and the folks at Lowlight Defense for the incredible amount of work done to conduct these tests! They went above and beyond, providing invaluable information to flashlight consumers and industry manufacturers as well. We welcome any and all future opportunities Low Light Defense would provide to test new tactical products we release for our civilian market space! Stay tuned!
